Turning Pressure Into Power
Turboexpander-based energy recovery systems capture excess pressure energy from natural gas and convert it into useful electricity. Installed upstream of gas-fired engines, turbines, or fuel cells, our turboexpanders improve overall plant efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Why
Energy Recovery
As power demands rise, improving system efficiency is critical. Turboexpanders transform a required pressure reduction process into an opportunity for additional power generation, delivering up to a 1% increase in power output and up to 2% total energy improvement.
HOW IT WORKS
High-pressure natural gas is expanded through the turboexpander, which generates electricity. The gas is then delivered at the required pressure to the system.
